Edward S. Rogers is the majority shareholder of the company. Its main competitor is Bell Canada.

Its activities are divided according to different major subsidiaries: Rogers Cable and Telecom subsidiaries are responsible for cable television, the internet and home phone, the activities of mobile phones are distributed through its three operators Rogers Wireless, Fido and Chatr, and Rogers Media manages the content part, via its various television and radio stations.
