Manchester City Logo – The Manchester City Football Club is a professional football club English based in the city of Manchester. Currently plays in the Premier League English. It was founded as St. Marks (West Gorton), renamed Ardwick AFC and finally changed its name to Manchester City FC in 1894. Throughout its history the club has won the Premier League three times, five times the FA Cup, two League Cup and Cup Winners Cup. The club’s most successful period was in the late 1960 and early 1970, at which time he won several tournaments under the direction of Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison his assistant, besides having great players such as Colin Bell and Francis Lee.

However, since 1976 the club had not won any major tournament, to obtain the FA Cup 2010-11. The debacle led him to descend City twice in three years in the year 1990, which means he spent a year in the third tier of English football. Currently the club has regained its place in the Premier League, where he has spent most of its history.

On September 1st of 2008 Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment, an investment group of UAE with Sulaiman Al-Fahim as visible part of the group, and Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan as majority shareholder, took control of the club by an amount close to 250 million euros, thus relieving the hitherto owner of the entity, Thaksin Shinawatra. It is proverbial that keep the rivalry Manchester City and Manchester United, the Citizens and the Red Devils.
